Day 1 Arrival at Leh (3505 meters/11567 feet above sea level).

On arrival at Kushok Bakula airport Leh – 3500m above sea level you will be transfer to hotel and check in. Half day at rest for acclimatization. Evening drive to visit Shanti Stupa, a Buddhist white-domed Stupa on a hilltop in Changspa, It was built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu, Gyomyo Nakamura and part of the Peace Pagoda mission. Later visit Leh Palace. In the evening walk around local market. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel in Leh.

 

Day 2 Sham Valley

Start your day at the Hall of Fame, a memorial constructed by the Indian Army to honor soldiers’ sacrifices during Indo-Pak wars. Then, visit the Kali Mata Temple, followed by the ancient 11th-century Spituk Gompa. Continue your journey to the majestic Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, built by the Lamas of Leh in 1517 to commemorate Guru Nanak Dev’s visit. Drive a short distance to experience the wonder of Magnetic Hill, where vehicles parked in neutral gear appear to defy gravity. Enjoy the scenic drive to the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers, marveling at the picturesque landscape. Return to your hotel via the same route. Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay in Leh.

 

Day 3 Leh to Nubra via Khardungla Pass – 18,380 Ft/5550 Mtrs. (125 Kms /0 5-0 6 hrs)

This morning, embark on a drive to Nubra Valley, traversing the highest motorable pass globally, Khardungla Pass, towering at 5550 meters. Pause at the pass to capture breathtaking views. Nubra Valley, nestled at the confluence of Shayok and Nubra rivers, awaits. En route, explore the picturesque Deskit village, the capital of Nubra. Visit Deskit Gompa, perched on a rocky spur, offering panoramic valley views. Marvel at the 106-feet high Maitreya Buddha statue at the monastery. Proceed to Hunder, passing through sand dunes where you’ll encounter the famous Bactrian camels. Opt for a camel ride at Hunder (additional charge). Later, return to your camp or hotel in Nubra for dinner and an overnight stay.

 

Day 4 Nubra – Excursion to Turtuk – Nubra.

Embark on one of Ladakh’s most captivating journeys to Turtuk, a lesser-known destination recently opened to tourists. En route, marvel at spectacular mountain ranges and quaint villages. This region is primarily controlled by the Ladakh Scouts, a special department of the Indian Army. Turtuk, a border village, was reclaimed by the Indian Army in 1971. The locals, who rely on farming and providing mules and porters, have relatives across the border (Line of Control). Baltistan, a charming village, has a poignant history – overnight, it became part of India on December 13, 1971. Spend a full day exploring Turtuk before returning to Nubra Valley in the evening. Overnight stay at a camp or hotel in Nubra.

 

Day 5 Nubra to Pangong Lake via Shayok (165 Kms/05 – 06 hrs)

After breakfast at camp/hotel we drive to next destination Pangong Lake (situated at 14, 500 ft above sea level) via Shayok and onto Tang Tse and Spangmik (Pangong). It’s a short cut and it’s a beautiful route. The road follows the Shayok river, and climbs up a mountain before finally descending into Shayok village. It takes less than an hour to reach Shayok, and you will be delighted at the sight of the rather big village surrounded by barren mountains, the entire setting being very picturesque. Afternoon we reach at Pangong Lake and enjoy your day at Pangong Lake. Dinner and overnight stay in camp .

 

Day 6 Pangong to Tsomoriri via Tsaga La( 210 KM / 6-7 Hrs )

After breakfast, head towards Tsomoriri via Chushul and Merak villages, driving along the stunning Pangong Lake. Keep an eye out for wild ass (Kyang) and various bird species like the Black-necked crane, Brahminy duck, and sea gull. Pass by Chushul monastery, a significant site for Border Personnel Meetings between the Indian Army and China’s PLA. Enjoy distant views of the army post, as public access is restricted. Proceed via Tsaga-La Pass and Loma towards Maha Bridge, the main checkpoint for entering this area. En route, visit Sumdah village before reaching Tsomoriri, known as a breeding ground for various bird species. The lake, 8 km wide and 28 km long, hosts birds like the bar-headed goose and crested grebe. Explore Korzok village and the lake surroundings before spending the night in tents.

 

Day 7 Tsomoriri-Tsokar – Leh

In the morning visit Korzok village and visit around the lake. Later drive towards Mahe village. The village is famous for the scene of shooting fountain and white clouds hanging upon. Drive to Puga valley and you can witness well- furnished Govt School for student from nearby nomad villages. Spring at Puga village is famous for Butan gas. Later we drive to Tsokar visit the Lake, which is at an altitude of 4090 mts, and continue drive to towards Leh via Tanglang pass, which is at a height of 5350 mts and is the second highest motor able pass in the world. drive back to Leh.. Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.

 

Day 8 Depart

On time drop at Leh Airport and fly back to own destination with beautiful memories.
